Join the legendary John Cale for an evening dedicated to a discussion of his long and unparalleled career. Since first finding notoriety as the Velvet Underground’s sonic architect to producing and performing with Iggy Pop, The Modern Lovers, Patti Smith, Brian Eno & The Happy Mondays, he has also maintained one of the most prolific and celebrated solo careers in rock music, continuing with his upcoming record Shifty Adventures in Nookie Wood, released just last week. Cale’s personal history is for many the physical embodiment of rock music’s own 20th century odyssey.

Joining the conversation (taking place on October 29th) will be pioneering producer Matthew Herbert, acclaimed author Richard King, and host Emma Warren (The Guardian, Red Bull Music Academy). John will also be taking questions from the audience during the 90-minute session, so here’s your chance to hear it like it was direct from the source.

For all those who can't attend, the session will be filmed and available for streaming after the event on the Red Bull music academy's site. A livestream of the event is also set to take place, details of which will be revealed closer to the event date.

Watch John Cale live on BBC 2’s Later With Jools on Tuesday 9th of Oct at 22:00 & Friday 12th at 23:00
